Today I want to talk about what it takes to become an agent and what makes some agents better than others.
I see a lot of people getting into the business right now. The economy is fantastic, homes are selling at a premium, so quick! And it makes it very attractive to become a realtor and I see a lot people doing it. I see entrepreneurial spirited people that are hard working with common sense and books smart, getting involved and wanting to make a positive impact on peoples lives.
But I also see some people that want to do this as a side business. I get scared when I see those, because real estate is something that shouldn’t be flippantly done.
So when a person decides to get in real estate, they should be really committed to working 40 or more hours per week to positively impact lives and find their clients the right home. A person who is making the largest financial decisions of their lives, they deserve to be working with someone who is very involved in training, involved in industry trends, and knowing the market inside and out. And that’s really hard to do if you’re working another full time job on top of trying to get someone into the largest investment of their lives!
Here is what it actually takes to become a realtor:
It’s only 2 classes. Two classes and you are good to go once you pass the Nebraska Real Estate Commission Exam. Not going to lie, that exam is really hard! It only has a 37% pass rate and costs $150 per test. If you’re going to do it, then make sure you get it done right the first time. I recommend Randal Prep Course.
If you’re thinking about getting in the game and you want to make a massive positive impact change in your life and those around you for the better, I do recommend you explore it. Come talk to me, talk to other agents, see if it’s truly a life match. It’s made me a better human being than I would’ve been without this career. It’s taught me so much. You get back what you put out. I’m so so grateful for this career. If you’re considering, call me, I’d love to visit.
