I’m excited to say that recently I’ve received a designation called SRES. That stands for Senior Residential Real Estate Specialist. I have taken some additional classes to learn how to best serve seniors. And I’m here today with Nolan Clare who is also an expert in helping seniors and when I learned about what he does for a living I got excited because there is a big need for it. My dad recently spent some time in an assisted living facility and it was such a journey and I want the world to learn more about what you do.
Nolan: Thank you Lisa. Essentially, my company helps seniors navigate the seemingly endless supply of living facilities, memory care facilities, and independent living facilities in the Omaha area. We essentially help identify a community that can meet not just their physical, emotional, clinical needs, but also make sure it’s something that they can afford and truly enjoy.
Lisa: Yes, and the other thing that I experience when my dad needed this temporary care is that it’s very stressful on families.
Nolan: Very much so! We pride ourselves on service, we are a concierge service for seniors making this transition. Whether that’s finding a moving company to coordinate everything that goes into that move, we are here to support the families.
Lisa: It is a family experience, not just an individual going through it,so I’m sure that people appreciate you holding their hands through that process.
Nolan: They absolutely do and a benefit of our services is that once you move to a community you are not done with Clare Senior Advisors, we will continue to follow up with you to make sure that your move was successful. If you have questions about whether or not the community is meeting your needs we can acknowledge that and answer your questions and make sure everyone is on the same page.
Lisa: And you have a strong background with caring for seniors, can you tell us about that?
Nolan: I do! I’ve spent my adult life working in senior living, most recently I served as the administrator of a large memory care facility in Omaha.
Lisa: Wow that’s impressive, so you’re not just jumping into this?
Nolan: Correct, I’ve lived senior living , I know the majority of the administrators, nurses, providers in this industry. I can truly hold people’s hands as they navigate the endless supply of facilities in Omaha.
Lisa: And one of the things that you and I talked about, what happens when someone doesn’t want to go to a facility but they have to go?
Nolan: Nobody wants to move to a care facility, everyone wants to be at home. Unfortunately there are physical limitations that might make that difficult. After serving hundreds of seniors in the area, I can help walk families through that. I also don’t think there is ever a time that is too early to give me a call, you cancall me 20 years before you need to make that move and I can make sure you’re educated throughout the process.
Lisa: Yeah, because there is things that you can do to prepare, like insurance products…
Nolan: Of course! We can dive into your financial situation making sure we’re not wasting time looking at facilities you can’t afford and vice versa. We want to make sure we’re looking at the right facilities for you that you will enjoy and live your retirement days in style.
Lisa: And there is no huge consulting fee?
Nolan: So the families actually don’t pay me a dime, it’s a free service for seniors. We partner with communities in the area who give us a referral fee. But trust us when we say that we are here to work for you, we’re here to serve.
Often times we’re working with families for months or years before they make the transition, but sometimes they can’t wait. So we will take the burden on our shoulders so the family doesn’t have to deal with finding movers, agents, etc.
Lisa: Thank you for all that you do, I know you really care.
